We have a series of informal meetings called “101” at New Life on a regular basis. You will hear from Steve, one of our church Elders, regarding the vision, beliefs, and government of New Life Christian Fellowship. We have designed these meetings to acquaint you with the mission and practices of NLCF so that you can make an informed decision regarding possible membership.
Discover Service
Every believer possesses gifts and talents that are given by God for the purpose of building His kingdom and blessing people. Get your feet wet! Begin the journey of serving by trying out a ministry you feel drawn to. Simply make the commitment to begin serving somewhere in the church and tell someone on our Leadership team! Let us help you discover your “niche.” There are several areas in the church that would be blessed to have you. Here are some to consider:
Education Team:
SonShine Farm Nursery (birth to walking)
SonShine Playground Toddler Room (walking to 3)
In the Beginning Kids (preschool to 1st grade)
5-G Challenge Kids (2nd grade to 6th grade)
Chasing Tomorrow Junior and Senior High
Worship Team:
Impact Band (singers, band members)
Media Team (computer technicians)
Stage Team (sound, lighting, video)
Drama Team (actors for Sunday morn. skits)
Helping Ministry:
Greeters (welcomes & guides visitors)
Kitchen help (aide in preparing for potlucks, fellowship, etc)
Office (folding bulletins, making copies, answering phones, etc)
How do I begin serving?
Each individual starting point may look and feel a little different depending on the volunteer opportunities you decide to explore. Some opportunities require advance registration while many simply let you just “show up.” Regardless of the process involved, the important thing is to get started. Complete information is listed with each opportunity when you search online. If you are still unsure what your next step should feel free to talk to someone on our Leadership Team and we will be delighted to help you.
What is expected of me?
Expectations will vary from role to role, however you can rest assured there is a process in place to ensure that you are equipped and trained. Every role has an assigned team leader whose responsibility is to set you up to win. The most important thing you can do is to show up and be ready to go when you say you will. Should you ever have any questions about what is expected of you, be sure to talk with your team leader. Good, open communication is the best method to ensure the serving opportunity is a good fit for both you and the ministry.
What is the time commitment?
This is the true beauty of volunteering. You can tailor your serving to fit your schedule and your season of life. There are serving opportunities available literally around the clock and around the calendar.
Does New Life really need me to volunteer?
ABSOLUTELY! You can play a vital role in the ministry of New Life Christian Fellowship. You don’t have to look deep to unveil that ministry opportunities abound while people resources are in short supply. We need you. God has a calling on this church. It will take us all to step up to the plate in order to achieve His vision.
